When do we recommend Atrofort DUO film-coated tablets?

It is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate osteoarthritis of the knee and hip:

• relieves joint pain,
• reduces inflammation in the joint,
• improves mobility,
• promotes the regeneration of cartilage tissue.

Atrofort DUO belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroid antiinflammatory and antirheumatic medicines.

Why do we recommend Atrofort DUO film-coated tablets?

• Besides the knee joint, Atrofort DUO is also recommended for the symptomatic treatment of osteoarthritis of the hip joint.
• Therapeutic dose in the daily dose (3 film-coated tablets): 1500 mg glucosamine sulphate and 800 mg chondroitin sulphate sodium.
• It is the only non-prescriptional medicine available in Hungary that contains a combination of glucosamine sulphate and chondroitin sulphate.*
• Its dual combination of active substances relieves the symptoms of cartilage wear, reduces joint pain and inflammation, and helps cartilage tissue regeneration.

WHAT IS OSTEOARTHRITIS?

Osteoarthritis affects more than 600 million people globally, with more than 60 million people just in Western Europe.

It is a degenerative inflammatory disease associated with progressive damage to the articular cartilage, hollowing of the bones beneath the joint, the formation of irregular new bone tissue (osteophytes) on the articular cartilage, and these result in joint pain and stiffness. This pathological condition affects the weight-bearing joints, primarily the knees and hips.

One of the possible treatments for the symptoms of osteoarthritis are SYSADOAs (symptomatic slow-acting drugs for osteoarthritis), such as glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate, the active ingredients of Atrofort Duo.

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND THE COMBINATION OF GLUCOSAMINE-SULPHATE AND CONDROITINE-SULPHATE?

Extensive clinical results show that after glucosamine sulphate and/or chondroitin sulphate therapy:

• the pain is significantly reduced or eliminated,
• joint mobility in most cases is improved, and
• the consumption of analgesics can be reduced.

Dosage:

3×1 film-coated tablets per day for adults in a course-like dosage. The total duration of treatment is 3 months, which can be repeated several times a year, with 2-month breaks. It is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
